So when I discovered the ghd it changed my life. I could finally keep my hair out of an elastic and it aided me out of those puberty blues. I've been loyal to it since but in the last few years, since getting the beauty kick a few years ago, I discovered how super conditioning products can help keep the volume down. 6 weeks back my hair had quite the chop, it's the shortest I've had it since I was a kid and it's pretty much as short as can get according to the hair dresser (or else it'll bounce right back up!). While it was thinned out a bit lots of people have told me that my hair looks even thicker at this length so ever since, I've really been cranking out the ghd. This week I took a gamble and decided to see if I could handle it without the ol' straightener, and surprisingly.. I kinda like it! I was so happy I decided to take these quick snaps just to make sure. So 'scuse the mess in the background and the arm in there, I'm really not used to "selfies" (I seriously don't know if I can get my head around that word.. sounds so.. icky).
A big thanks though is to the Bumble & Bumble Straight Lotion which I feel really has helped keep my hair down without the flat iron. Another week of success and I'm popping a full size in my basket. It sorta struck me today that I didn't mind my hair this way and I've always liked the bed head look, just thought I could never achieve it. Plus the irony of using a straightening lotion to help me get the voluminous look just kills me *cheesy grin*. I'll keep experimenting but if I can go without the heat, then this may be the next stage in my hair evolution. Who would've thunked it..
