twtw #5 - electro beats and wishlist lovin'

Some fun things I've found this week..

I've been living with Katy Perry's Prism in the past week. I love it when music grows on you, I tried listening to this when it first came out and didn't get it. This week I suddenly had an urge for electro pop and remembered her album, pulled it out and this time I got it. I love the electro elements in what are still pop tunes with big hooks and vocals. Oops got a bit nerdy there. Top picks are 'It Takes Two', 'Ghost' and 'Choose Your Battles'. I definitely vote Prism over Teenage Dream.

I've been trying to continue to branch out with new music lately which is weird these days especially when you don't follow radio. I used to be the kid waiting by the radio to tape my favourite songs and listen for new favourites to appear (90s kids ftw). One of my current favourite ways after going to Falls Festival is to check out concerts and one awesome way of doing that is through youtube. After watching a Lianne La Havas' concert (gawd that girl's voice), I randomly clicked on a video of Passion Pit's 2013 Coachella concert. And. Fell. In. Love. With. Their. Sound. I'm lovin' electro pop sounds right now, especially jolly ones like these. I'm going to embark upon their albums next week. They're not quite as up there as The Wombats to me but that sound.. drool..

New blog love, The Love Cats Inc. She's been killin' it with her outfit posts lately especially this one and most of all I love her wishlist posts! I adore her picks and appreciate how they're budget conscious too with lots of ebay love, and oh boy do I lurrve ebay. On the same hand, I also really loved llymlrs post on her ebay collection here. I love seeing what other people pick (especially those who have similar taste) and create their own edits, something I like to do a lot too even though I don't write these sorts of posts myself.
